Data Subject Rights

As a data subject, you have a series of rights concerning your personal data, processed by the Ministry, as provided in Articles 15-22 of the GDPR. The Ministry ensures it is able to respond promptly to subject requests to exercise these rights according to current legislation.

Specifically, each data subject has the following rights (provided the legal requirements are met):

a) To request access to their personal data held by the Ministry. More specifically, they may request a copy of the record held by the Ministry with their personal data and verify the lawfulness of its processing.

b) To request the correction of their personal data in case of inaccuracies or incomplete entries by the Ministry.

c) To request the deletion of their personal data if it is no longer necessary for the purposes collected, and if its retention is not based on any legal grounds or legitimate interest.

d) To request restriction of the processing of their personal data.

e) To withdraw their consent for the processing of their personal data at any time without affecting the lawfulness of processing based on consent prior to its withdrawal.

f) To request the portability/transfer of their personal data, either to themselves or to third parties.

Additionally, the data subject has the right to object to the processing of their personal data by the Ministry.

Note that if there are reasonable doubts regarding the identity of the data subject, additional information may be requested to verify identity.

The Ministry reserves the right to partially or fully refuse your request for restriction or deletion of data if the processing or retention of your personal data is necessary to establish, exercise, or defend its legal rights or fulfill its legal obligations.

The Ministry is obligated to respond to your request within one month from its receipt. This period may be extended by an additional two months if necessary, depending on the complexity of the request and the number of requests. In such cases, the Ministry will inform you within one month from receipt of the request about the extension and the reasons for the delay.

If the Ministry fails to act on your request or if you believe your rights have been violated, you have the right to lodge a complaint with the Hellenic Data Protection Authority, at Kifisias Ave. 1-3, 115 23, Athens, https://www.dpa.gr/, tel. 2106475600.
